In the last part we configured the Horizon Connector, now we’re going to run the setup wizard in order to assign applications and select users.

Let’s begin the setup wizard

Join the domain.  Enter the domain name and enter the username and password that has permissions to add a machine to the domain.

Choose to enable Windows Authentication.

Do not select use SSL.  Enter the Internal name for the connector.  We used horizonconnector.hollow.lab

Now we enter the external name.  We used theithollow.hollow.lab.  Note that his isn’t really an external name, but it does match the DNS entries we created in Part1.  If you are using a real external name, make sure the DNS entries match this name.

Once you enter the external host name, click the generate SSL certificate.  Once that’s done you will want to copy the SSL Certificate information.  Save it to notepad and save it as a .cer file.  You will need this in part 4 of this post.

Enable Windows apps and point the path to a file share with the thinapps.  Note: Your apps need to be in individual folders.  Don’t throw all the apps into the root directory.

You can click next on this screen.  This is why your horizon users must have a first name, last name and email address listed in active directory.

User selection is done next.  Enter a DN or multiple DNs that contain your horizon users.

You can skip this screen if you want, or add some groups.

Configure how often you want to sync with Active Directory.

View your users and click save.

Your setup is complete.  Now we can login to the horizon.
