If you plan to use VMware Replication to replicate your VMs, you’ll need to deploy a VR Appliance at each site. Click the “Deploy VR Appliance” link under the VMware replication tab.
Deploy the OVF template to your desired ClusterHostnetwork and datastore.
Name your VR appliance and select the inventory location.
Choose your cluster.
Choose a resource pool, or just the cluster name if no resource pools exist. The cluster itself, acts as a resource pool.
Choose your datastore.
Provision your virtual disks.
Select your virtual network. This might be a good time to review you networks again. It may make sense to create a different network strictly for your replication traffic.
Change the root password for the VR appliance as well as configuring your networking settings.
Select the vCenter Extension vService to connect to vCenter.
Review the settings and click finish.
Wait for the replication appiance to deploy the disks and register with vCenter.
Once the appliance has been deployed, you can use the URL to make further modifications, or upgrade later on.
Congratulations!
